Connecting an external warehouse without losing ERP control

The problem: Warehouse execution runs in ATMS, a specialist external system, while stock and financial control belong in Dynamics 365.
What we did: Integrated Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations with the ATMS warehouse management system on Azure, using the Dynamics data management framework for structured, recoverable message exchange.
Why it mattered: Warehouse operations keep the system built for them, and Dynamics remains the record for stock and finance rather than a downstream copy.

Eland Cables operates in distribution, and the work described here was shaped by that operating context rather than by a standard template.

One challenge is published in full: the situation as it stood, the part that was genuinely difficult, the decision we took and why another route was rejected. The answers were not all the same: this work used standard microsoft functionality and integration.

What it proves, and what it does not

It establishes delivery experience on Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and Azure, across Dynamics 365 FSCM and Azure / Integration.
It does not establish a saving, a percentage or a timescale. No measured figure has been verified with a definition, a baseline and a period, so none is published.
It does not mean the same answer would suit your organisation. The reasoning is the transferable part, not the configuration.
